GPT-5 could launch any moment — here’s what’s coming

After months of hints, delays, and wild speculation, OpenAI’s long-awaited GPT-5 is finally expected to drop this summer — possibly as early as July. While Sam Altman has only confirmed a “summer” launch window, leaks and internal chatter suggest a major leap forward.
So what’s expected?
Stronger reasoning and planning — a step closer to agent-like behavior with less hallucination and sharper multi-step thinking.
More natural conversation with personalization options like tone, style, or even persona-based responses.
A likely boost to the context window beyond GPT-4 Turbo’s 128K tokens, enabling users to feed in huge documents or sustained multi-file chats.
Improvements to image and video generation, building on OpenAI’s Sora and DALL·E integrations — with better prompt understanding and more accurate visual output.
While OpenAI’s rivals — Anthropic, Google, and Meta — are racing ahead with new agents and multimodal models, GPT-5 is expected to be OpenAI’s sharpest play yet.
Gmail’s new subscription manager helps users declutter their inboxes

Google is rolling out a new “Manage subscriptions” feature in Gmail to help users clean up their inboxes by organizing and unsubscribing from marketing emails more easily. Now live on the web and coming to Android and iOS in July, the tool shows all active subscriptions, sorts them by frequency, and offers a one-click unsubscribe option.
Users can see how many emails a sender has sent recently, view all emails from that sender in one place, and send an unsubscribe request without leaving Gmail. The update builds on Gmail’s earlier one-click unsubscribe tool launched last year and is part of a broader push to simplify inbox management.
The feature is rolling out gradually over the next two weeks and will be available to personal Gmail users as well as Google Workspace and Workspace Individual subscribers.
Moonvalley’s AI video tool “Marey” goes public with a filmmaker-first approach

LA-based AI startup Moonvalley has officially launched its “3D-aware” video generation model, Marey, positioning it as a hybrid, filmmaker-friendly alternative to prompt-only tools. Unlike many competitors, Marey gives users fine-grained control over motion, camera angles, and scene composition—what the company calls “hybrid filmmaking.”
Previously in beta, Marey is now available via a credit-based subscription, starting at $14.99 for 100 credits. Users can generate clips up to five seconds long, in line with other leading video models. Notably, Marey is trained entirely on openly licensed data, aiming to avoid copyright concerns that have sparked legal challenges elsewhere.
Co-founder Naeem Talukdar demonstrated Marey’s standout features: real-time camera manipulation with a cursor, physics-aware motion (e.g., a car kicking up grass and dirt), and the ability to adjust characters and environments post-shot. Upcoming features include lighting control, character libraries, and deeper object handling.
Already, filmmakers like Ángel Manuel Soto are using Marey to cut production costs by 20–40%. Backed by General Catalyst and built by ex-DeepMind researchers, Moonvalley is entering a hot AI video space dominated by tools like Runway Gen-3, Google’s Veo 3, and Pika—but it’s carving a niche by focusing on storytelling, not just spectacle.
