🎬 Netflix Confirms First GenAI Footage in Show

Netflix just made it official: AI-generated footage has hit the screen.
On its Q2 earnings call, co-CEO Ted Sarandos revealed that Netflix used generative AI to create a collapsing building scene in the Argentine sci-fi series El Eternauta — claiming it was done 10x faster and at a lower cost than traditional VFX.
👉 Why it matters:
This marks the first confirmed use of GenAI final footage in a Netflix production. It shows how AI isn’t just a behind-the-scenes tool anymore — it’s now reshaping the core of how scenes are produced, especially in global and mid-budget projects that previously couldn't afford such effects.
Sarandos emphasized that this isn't about replacing creators, but empowering them with faster, more flexible tools for pre-visualization, shot planning, and VFX — like de-aging, once reserved for blockbuster budgets.
Netflix is also applying GenAI to:
Search & personalization
Ad creation and interactivity (launching later this year)
With $11B in Q2 revenue and 95B hours of content watched in the first half of 2025 — one-third from non-English titles — Netflix is clearly betting that AI will help scale both creativity and efficiency across global markets.
📈 ChatGPT Now Handles 2.5 Billion Prompts Daily

OpenAI told Axios this week that ChatGPT is now receiving 2.5 billion prompts per day from users around the world — a staggering figure that highlights how quickly AI chat interfaces are becoming mainstream. Of those, 330 million daily prompts come from U.S. users alone.
To put that in perspective, Google averages around 13–14 billion searches daily, based on estimates from Alphabet and third-party firms like SparkToro and NP Digital. That means ChatGPT is now handling nearly 20% of Google’s global search volume — and it’s only been public since late 2022.
📊 Just eight months ago, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said ChatGPT was receiving 1 billion daily prompts. The new numbers suggest a 150% growth in usage since December — a sign that AI assistants are rapidly becoming a default interface for information, productivity, and even search.
Bottom line: If usage keeps rising at this pace, ChatGPT may soon rival traditional search engines not just in hype — but in daily utility.Essential of the Day!
🧠 OpenAI’s New ChatGPT Agent Can Now Take Actions for You

OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Agent, a powerful new tool that goes beyond answering questions — it can now perform tasks on your behalf. Rolling out to Pro, Plus, and Team users, the agent can navigate calendars, generate slide decks, run code, and even connect with tools like Gmail, GitHub, and APIs.
This marks OpenAI’s boldest step into agentic AI, combining past features like web browsing and research into a single tool that users control with natural language prompts.
The underlying model is also its most capable yet, scoring 41.6% on Humanity’s Last Exam and 27.4% on FrontierMath — a significant leap over previous versions
To address safety concerns, OpenAI has disabled memory, added real-time monitoring, and flagged sensitive tasks involving biology or code execution.
Why it matters: ChatGPT Agent brings OpenAI closer to the long-promised vision of AI that can truly get things done for you, not just tell you how.
