💸 Meta Bets Big on AI Superintelligence – “Titan Clusters” Incoming

Mark Zuckerberg just revealed Meta’s boldest AI move yet: the company will spend hundreds of billions to build massive AI data centers powering future superintelligence.

In a post on Threads, Zuckerberg announced:

• Prometheus, Meta’s first multi-gigawatt AI cluster, will launch in 2026

• Hyperion, another mega-cluster, will scale to 5 gigawatts

• “Just one of these covers a significant part of Manhattan,” he said

• This follows Meta’s recent push to dominate AI through its Superintelligence Labs, led by Alexandr Wang and Nat Friedman, after investing $14.3B in Scale AI.

Despite recent setbacks with its open-source model LLaMA 4, Meta is doubling down—possibly shifting toward closed models to stay ahead of OpenAI and Google.

With $165B in revenue last year and a booming ad business, Meta believes it has the cash—and the time—to win the AI race, no matter how long it takes.

🗣️ Mistral Drops Voxtral – The Open-Source Whisper Killer?

French AI startup Mistral just entered the speech AI race with Voxtral, its first open audio model designed for production use.

Most open models struggle with accuracy, and closed ones cost a fortune. Voxtral aims to fix that — offering accurate transcription, real-time understanding, and multilingual support at less than half the price of Whisper or ElevenLabs. 

Built on Mistral’s Small 3.1 LLM, it can:

• Transcribe 30+ mins of audio

• Understand 40+ mins for Q&A and summaries

• Trigger voice-activated actions (like calling APIs)

• Handle 8 languages, including English, Hindi, and Spanish

It comes in three versions:

• Voxtral Small (24B) for full-scale apps

• Voxtral Mini (3B) for edge/local use

• Voxtral Mini Transcribe – a fast, dirt-cheap Whisper rival

Pricing starts at $0.001/min, with free trials on Hugging Face and Le Chat.

After launching its reasoning model Magistral last month and eyeing a $1B raise, Mistral is clearly playing for keeps.

🚀 SpaceX to Pump $2B into Elon Musk’s AI Startup xA

Elon Musk might be backing himself in a big way—again. According to The Wall Street Journal, SpaceX is set to invest $2 billion into Musk’s AI venture, xAI, as part of a broader $5B equity raise.

This would mark SpaceX’s first and largest investment in another Musk-led company, deepening the ties between his growing empire.

xAI’s chatbot Grok is already in use for Starlink customer support, with more cross-company integrations on the way—including plans to bring Grok into Tesla vehicles.

 Despite controversy around Grok’s recent antisemitic outputs, Musk continues to integrate xAI across his platforms—including its merger with X (formerly Twitter) earlier this year.

 Musk is clearly building a vertically integrated AI powerhouse—one where rockets, cars, and chatbots all play together.
