Grammarly Acquires Superhuman to Bring AI Agents to Email Workflows

Grammarly has acquired email client Superhuman in a strategic move to expand its AI-powered productivity ecosystem, the company announced Tuesday. While the terms remain undisclosed, Superhuman — last valued at $825 million — brings with it a polished, fast email experience favored by executives and power users.

Grammarly CEO Shishir Malhotra called email "the perfect staging ground" for orchestrating AI agents across daily workflows, highlighting the potential for AI-powered writing and communication tools to operate natively within inboxes. Superhuman’s founder, Rahul Vohra, and the rest of the team will join Grammarly, where they’ll help integrate AI scheduling, smart replies, and inbox prioritization features.

The acquisition follows Grammarly’s recent $1 billion non-dilutive raise from General Catalyst and last year’s purchase of Coda, marking a clear ambition: to evolve beyond grammar-checking into a multi-agent productivity platform where AI collaborates seamlessly across apps like email, docs, and meetings.

Meta Forms ā€˜Superintelligence Labs’ to Consolidate AGI Efforts

Meta is restructuring its AI division under a new banner: Meta Superintelligence Labs, as CEO Mark Zuckerberg intensifies the company’s push toward developing artificial general intelligence (AGI). According to an internal memo obtained by Bloomberg, the new division will unify all of Meta’s AI research and product teams into a single group focused on building AI ā€œsuperintelligence.ā€

Leading the initiative is Alexandr Wang, former CEO of Scale AI, who joins Meta as chief AI officer. He’ll be joined by Nat Friedman, ex-GitHub CEO, who will oversee product and applied research across the AI portfolio.

The shake-up comes shortly after Meta invested $14.3 billion in Scale AI, a move that brought Wang into the fold and reinforced Meta’s AGI ambitions. The company has also been actively poaching top talent, including 11 researchers from competitors like Google DeepMind and Anthropic — with recent hires including DeepMind’s Pei Sun and Anthropic’s Joel Pobar.

Zuckerberg’s strategy is clear: centralize AI leadership, accelerate AGI progress, and stack Meta’s bench with some of the industry’s sharpest minds.

Cursor Launches Web App to Manage AI Coding Agents From Anywhere

Cursor, the viral AI-powered coding editor, just took a major leap beyond the IDE. On Monday, its parent company Anysphere launched a new web app that lets users manage a fleet of autonomous coding agents — directly from their browser, whether on desktop or mobile.

The launch builds on Cursor’s recent momentum. After debuting background agents in May that autonomously solve tasks like bug fixes and feature creation, and a Slack integration in June that allows developers to assign those tasks with a simple @Cursor mention, the company is now creating a more flexible, always-on interface for users.

With the web app, users can:

  • Assign tasks to agents using natural language

  • Track progress in real time

  • Merge completed changes directly into codebases

Andrew Milich, Cursor’s head of product engineering, says the new features aim to ā€œremove the frictionā€ of using Cursor’s AI stack across different environments.

And it’s working: Cursor now boasts over $500M in annualized recurring revenue, with more than half of the Fortune 500 using the platform — including Nvidia, Uber, and Adobe. To meet rising demand, Anysphere recently launched a $200/month Pro tier offering more robust features for power users and teams.

Cursor’s expansion signals an aggressive move into the autonomous agent ecosystem — one where coders don’t just collaborate with AI, but delegate entire workflows.
