🤖 Your Slack Workspace Just Got a Smart Upgrade with Slackbot

Slack just transformed Slackbot into a fully capable AI productivity partner—far beyond reminders and simple automations. The new Slackbot understands your work context, learns your style, and turns scattered information into clear, actionable insights.

Slackbot now pulls intelligence from messages, channels, files, calendars, and integrated apps like Google Drive, OneDrive, Salesforce, and more. Instead of searching across dozens of channels or pinging teammates, you can simply ask Slackbot—and get answers backed by real context, not generic AI guesses.

What makes the new Slackbot a game-changer:

Context-aware answers: It synthesises information from conversations, documents, and past decisions to give precise summaries or explanations. No more digging for old threads.

Action-ready automation: Ask it to draft a doc, create a canvas, summarise a client thread, prep a meeting brief, or generate next steps—Slackbot handles the setup instantly.

A personal AI that adapts to you: It learns your workflows over time, prioritises the information you actually care about, and proactively helps you move tasks forward.

Seamless across tools: Because it connects with enterprise systems like Salesforce and GDrive, Slackbot becomes the glue that stitches together cross-team information.

Slack is positioning this new AI Slackbot as a trusted digital teammate—not just an assistant, but a productivity engine that reduces noise, accelerates decisions, and gives workers a clearer path from question to action.

Google is stitching AI Overviews directly into its conversational AI Mode, and the seam is starting to disappear.

A global mobile test now lets people tap from an AI-generated snapshot straight into a back-and-forth with Gemini, erasing the old split between a quick query and a deeper chat. The company is betting that people rarely know which one they want until they’re already staring at the screen, thumb hovering over a simple question.

This happens while OpenAI hits pause on other launches and treats its chatbox as a top-priority fix, and while Gemini crosses 650 million monthly users, buoyed by the Nano Banana model and a push to get Gemini in front of the 2 billion people who already see AI Overviews. It is a race for the front door of the internet, and Google is trying to make that door feel like one flow instead of two modes.

If the test sticks, the distinction between searching and chatting may fade for good, which rewires how people find facts, argue over them, and wander down rabbit holes they did not expect to open.

Somewhere in that small pause before a follow-up tap, you can feel the shift settling in.

🔥 AI Usage Caps Are Here — Sora and Nano Banana Pro Face Massive Demand Surge

OpenAI and Google have both introduced new daily limits on their most in-demand creative AI tools — Sora and Nano Banana Pro — after an unprecedented spike in global usage began straining compute resources. OpenAI now restricts free Sora users to six videos per day, while paid ChatGPT Plus and Pro users remain unaffected and can purchase additional generations. OpenAI’s Head of Sora jokingly attributed the new limits to “melting GPUs,” highlighting the intense demand and the massive compute requirements behind high-quality video generation.

Google is enforcing similar caps on its new Nano Banana Pro image model, reducing free-tier users to just two image generations or edits per day. In contrast, Gemini 3 Pro users face variable quotas that may shift based on system load. Interestingly, the older Nano Banana model (Gemini 2.5) still allows for up to 100 images per day, underscoring how dramatically compute demands have increased with the latest generation.

These new restrictions arrive during one of the busiest holiday weekends in the U.S., a period when user experimentation typically surges. More importantly, they serve as a strong reminder that even top AI labs must contend with real-world GPU limits, energy costs, and infrastructure constraints — especially as generative video becomes the next frontier of AI creativity.
